A graduate of Fine Arts from Stella Maris College, Chennai, Priya lives and works in London.

Her previous solo exhibitions include ‘Faceless’ (Chennai, 2000), ‘Waiting’ (UK, 2008), ‘Still Outside (UK, 2019) and ‘From the Other Side of the Window’ (UK, 2022). Besides solo and group exhibitions, Priya has shown with the Society of Women Artists in their annual exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London, the Patchings Art Festival winners display exhibition at Nottinghamshire, and with the Society of Nigerian Artists at their annual exhibitions in Lagos.

In 2022, Priya was featured in the UK's ‘Landscape Artist of the Year’ television series, which was telecast nationally on Sky Network.

Colour, pattern, and texture play a significant part in Priya’s collages. The materials are deliberate, very often connecting with the feel or atmosphere of the forms or the spaces that she creates; the lines, the flow, and treatment are intuitive, and are generally dictated by the artist’s emotional response to the setting. The nature of the work and its creative process, make her collages almost impossible to replicate, and each piece is therefore one of a kind.

“In her present suite of works titled “RED SKY, BLUE EARTH”, Priya reveals interests that have the flavor of the sight and sounds of her immediate environment as well as the various cultures she has experienced during her travels. It is easy to locate her predilection for architecture in compositions that articulate entrances marked by closed doors, or row houses, or steps leading to nowhere, a street in a city of Rajasthan or a village in Ireland.
The materials that Priya engages with are not only thought-provoking but aid in aptly articulating her concepts. Priya’s works create a universe of their own, each complete in its redefined form.”
